Yosigo’s Holiday Memories Exhibition
This past Sunday, my friend invited to go along to see Yosigo’s Holiday Memories exhibition. It was located close to Gyeongbokgung Station at Ground Seesaw. The building itself is an architectural structure. The tickets were 15,000 won and we booked in advance. Good thing too, because there were so many people in line.
Yosigo is a Spanish photographer who plays with light and building structures to create the perfect photo. The first floor were lots of building photos that played with geometry and symmetry. There were so many amazing photos on this floor. The second floor featured photographs from several locations in the world including the United States, Budapest, Japan, and Dubai. The last floor was the one that I had been looking forward to the most. It was a bunch of photographs of beach areas, and it showcased minimalism and also a more busy environment. The gallery was so pretty, and I bought some of the postcards in the gift shop to keep.
It was around 1 pm when we finished at the gallery but we still had some time to kill before meeting up with our other friends. So, we went to Onground Cafe which was in the area. It was a really nice cafe that I have been wanting to visit for a while. The drinks were really expensive though. Usually they are around $6 but these were $8.
Later in the afternoon, I met up with more of my friends and we ate KBBQ and also went to a really nice cafe in Ikseondong called Midamheon (미담헌). The cafe had areas throughout the area that you were required to take your shoes off. It made it a bit difficult because the area we chose to sit at was in the main area, but then you had to go through one room to get to the cashier. So, taking on and off your shoes was a bit of a hassle. The environment was really nice though and I definitely would go back.
