A Day Trip to Goyang

This weekend I traveled outside of northern Seoul to Goyang for the day. Winter is finally setting in, so this trip was perfect since some of the activities I wanted to do were inside.

If you're looking for restaurant and coffee shop recommendations in Korea, I totally recommend Mangoplate. I use this app to find all the cafes that I go to on my trips here. I went to this cute cafe called Green Pitcher nearby Ilsan Lake Park, where I got a hot chocolate to chase away some of the cold. The cafe also played some really chill music, which I really enjoyed.

address:

769, Janghang-dong, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do
경기 고양시 일산동구 중앙로1275번길 60-14
Hours: 11:00 - 23:00

Ilsan Lake Park was pretty even though most of the leaves have fallen off the trees. There were lots of sculptures scattered throughout the park. The cactus greenhouse was lovely, and there was a section where they sell cacti and succulents. Of course, I couldn't help buying one for my apartment.

address: Janghang-dong Ilsandonggu, Goyang, Gyeonggi-do

After wandering around a bit more I headed back to Seoul for a quick bite, and then took the bus back to my city.
