A Day Trip to Suwon’s Wolhwawon
Since I had a day off from work, because it was Hangeul Day, I decided to meet up with some friends and explore Suwon. I had only ever been to the immigration office there, so this was a good opportunity to see more of the sights in this big city.
Suwon is a city with approximately 1.2 million residents. I was curious about the Chinese garden that is located there. So, my friend and I took the subway from Yeoju to Suwon for about an hour and a half. Once there, we walked over to Diaaz Cafe to grab a drink and wait for my other friend. The cafe is spacious and takes up two floors with balcony areas. Since it wasn’t too warm, we decided to take our drinks and sit out on the balcony.
After my other friend joined us and we sat around chatting, we strolled over to Wolhwawon; the Chinese garden. It was so peaceful, green, and beautiful. It was relatively small for a garden, but was just big enough that it was worth it to travel all the way. We took lots of photos and just meandered on the paths.
After looking our fill at the garden, we grabbed some ice cream at a Baskin Robbins and just chatted for a while. The last thing we did was go to Coffeesmith for a drink. It was so nice to see my one friend, who I hadn’t see in quite a while, and just chill on our day off.
