Olympic Park in the Fall

It goes without saying that Olympic Park is one of the parks that you shouldn’t miss while in Seoul. Leading up to the park’s main gate, the road has many statues of the Olympic sports. The main entrance features an impressive gate with the Olympic symbol and flags from all over the word forming a semi-circle.

I have been to this park many, many times. It is somewhere to go when you want to be in nature while still staying in Seoul. However, this was my first time exploring the park while it was fall.

I discovered another part of the park that is very popular. I continued to see this one area of the park featured on Instagram, and I was dying to find it. However, I’d been to the park many other times and hadn’t seen this part. Therefore, this day I spent time studying the map and wandering in all sorts of wrong directions. Finally, I discovered the area of the park that I was supposed to be in.

If you enter the park from the Olympic Park subway station, you will need to head into the park and then, heading towards the main entrance, there is a path past a big parking lot. Past the parking lot is a bridge over the road, walking over the bridge leads to the rose garden area and the cosmos garden. It is here that I found the wonderland that is this garden in the fall.

After admiring the different types of roses, I took the little path leading up to the cosmos garden. Once at the top, the view opens up to reveal a stunning garden of bright orange cosmos. At the top of that garden is a resting platform. On the other side of the hill were more cosmos, but these are the white, pink, and purple variations.

Overall, this was a really enjoyable excursion despite getting a little lost in the beginning. Fall is the prettiest season in Korea; in my opinion. Can’t wait to see more of the fall colors!
