A Solo Trip to Yeosu
This has been the most chaotic part of my trip so far. I got a bit confused when I was booking my room, so I ended up staying at a hostel that was an hour away by public transport from the central attractions. That means lots of missed buses, waiting time, and skipped places that I'd planned on visiting but didn't have time for in the end. At the end of the day, I totally believe that this place is beautiful and worth another trip in the future.
I arrived by KTX around 11 am and wasn't able to check into my hostel until 3, so I took a taxi to WYD Coffee Stand. This place was beautiful with a rooftop area and three floors of seating. I had an amazing nutty white coffee and a cupcake.
After checking into my hostel, I hurried over to Hamel Lighthouse before the sun set. It was amazingly beautiful with all the boats on the water and the cable car running in the background.
I was famished, so I headed over to grab a crab dinner at 꽃돌게장1번가. I had the opportunity to eat crab marinated in soy sauce and crab with a spicy sauce. They were both raw, and amazingly delicious. There was a cooked crab in the soup that they served. Besides all the side dishes, the waitresses kept insisting I go over to get some of the self-serve dishes, even though I couldn't finish everything I already had. Self-serve included kimchi, fish cake, and more crab.
The next morning, I went back to the Nangman area to go to Cafe Beau. It also had a rooftop area and three floors of seating. The barista seemed to really like IU and Taeyeon songs. It was a nice, relaxing way to start the day.
The next place I decided to go to was Hyangiram Hermitage. It was supposedly two hours away, but the bus driver got us there in an hour. I surprisingly ran into a group of friends that I had seen the previous day at WYD Coffee Stand. What a coincidence. The hermitage was quite a hike, I definitely got some exercise in. It was so peaceful and everyone seemed happy enjoying nature.
I took the bus back and stopped at the Dolsan entrance cable car. The view was quite lovely and I had the whole cable car to myself, which I really enjoyed.
Although the first day was rough, I really enjoyed my time in Yeosu, and can't wait to come back in the future. Tomorrow, I'm off to Suncheon for my next adventure.
