A Trip to Gapyeong

I woke up early to meet my friends at the station. For once, I was able to see the sunrise. We took the train to Cheongpyeong Station from our meeting spot (Sangbong Station). When we got there, we tried to take the bus but it just didn’t come, so we took a taxi to the Garden of Morning Calm.

I am always impressed with how beautiful the garden is. It’s like Cottagecore and romanticizing life at its finest. I have been to this garden quite a lot, but I still saw some new places. At the garden, there was this one little girl with her parents and she stared at us a lot and even went up and grabbed Lily’s hand. I feel like I should let the pictures do the talking.

We took a bus back to the station and then took a short taxi ride to Nami Island. We were quite hungry so we ordered makguksu (spicy noodles) and a potato jeon. The food was delicious. Our other friend joined us and we took the zipwire to the island. We had booked the tickets online the previous day for 44,000 won each. It was so fun to ride over by zipwire. The island was teeming with people. There were lots of events happening; we missed the incense making and Bollywood music performance, but we made it to see the traditional instruments performance. It was really nice to just walk around and observe everything going on. We took the ferry back and ordered charcoal fire dakkalbi. From the restaurant, we could see the water sports going on on the river, and the ferry going back and forth to the island.
