A Trip to Yeoju
I finally had the opportunity to return back to Yeoju. It was a bit sad to realize that I was getting on the bus, but not to return to Yeoju at the end of the day, but to travel back to Seoul. It was a short day trip, but it was so nice to go back and see all the familiar places. It was really nice to see all the little changes that have been happening over the past half a year.
The first half of the day I spent meeting up with an acquaintance and catching up with her. It was nice to talk to someone who knew the exact details of my previous job, and we could share our frustrations and appreciations that came with living in Yeoju. We got to eat at the new Vietnamese place downtown. They had some killer banh mi. I also got to visit Bong Bong Cafe., and the owner was so glad to see me again. It was a nice surprise to see her and catch up a bit.
Later, my friend from Seoul came down, and I met up with her. Since we had both lived in Yeoju previously, we went to some of our favorite places.
We first walked downtown and went into our favorite shops. Then we went and got our favorite drinks at Caffe Bene. We sat there a while and caught up. After, we went to the coin noraebang and sang a bunch of Korean and English songs.
We ordered a Dominoes cheese pizza and took a taxi to the other side of the river, where we sat on a bench and ate our dinner. After demolishing the food, we walked around the Ohak area. It was a bit smoggy so it looked like winter even though it was hot out and definitely felt like summer. We stopped inside of Good Simple for some takeout cake. Then made our way over to Ohak Cafe for some drinks on the rooftop.
Our last stop for the day was Day 1. Surprisingly that area was not full of young people, which is rare. Usually there are tons of people there during that time just hanging out, eating, and drinking. We chilled at the cafe and enjoyed our drinks before catching our bus back to Seoul.
