A week in Tokyo, Japan
During summer vacation I finally got to go to Japan. It's been on my list of places to go for forever. I went for a little over a week, but it felt like too short of a time.
The first day, I was so shocked by how incredibly hot it was outside. However, it was a great excuse to go into many cafes. I went to Shibuya Crossing, and was in awe of all the people. I went up to the top of Mag's Park to get this amazing view. After, I walked around the Shibuya area and found a quick bite to eat.
Since it was hot outside, I kept walking into stores just to cool off for a bit. I walked all the way to the Harajuku area to see Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku. Beautiful shopping mall where I grabbed a delicious bubble tea from Urth Caffe.
I wanted to see a view of Tokyo while the sun set, so I headed over to Tokyo City View in the Mori Art Museum building. Saw some breathtaking views of the city at night.
The next day I went to Asakusa in the morning to see the Kaminarimondori Shopping Street before all the shops opened up. I got to see wonderful murals painted onto the store doors.
I walked the short distance to see Sensoji Temple and Kaminara Gate. Since it was earlier in the morning, I was able to avoid the heat and tourists.
I was hot and hungry so I entered Brook's Green Cafe for a quiche and smoothie before walking to the Omotesando area to look at the shops there. So thankful for all the vending machines with drinks. Definitely don't think I could have survived if they weren't everywhere.
My last day in Tokyo, I went to the Mori Building Digital Art Museum to see the teamLab Borderless exhibition. Definitely worth the money to go spend a few hours just wandering around in there. The exhibits change throughout the day, so even if you've seen it already, you can go back and it will be different.
This concludes the end of my Tokyo trip, and now on to Kyoto!
