Artists: My Favorites
I love listening to so many different genres of music, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite artists that I’m currently listening to at the moment.
English
Always Never
This R&B duo from Toronto, Canada has some great songs with fantastic beats. The perfect songs to blast when taking a drive with your friends.

DVSN
One of my all-time favorite artists. This duo is also a Canadian R&B group. The beats that flow through their music are very smooth and light. I enjoy listening to them anytime of the day, and I can distinctly remember moments from my life where I was listening to them.

Tep No
This artist’s voice is really soothing and I really enjoy the electronic sounds of the music that accompany his lyrics. I usually listen to his music when I’m just chilling and needing some time to think.

Leona Lewis
An old favorite of mine, she is more well-known. I pretty much listen to all of her songs, and love singing them at karaoke. Throughout all my travels, I’ve continuously listened to her music. I love the range her voice is capable of achieving.

Post Malone
He is definitely popular right now, but I wanted to include him on this list because I listen to his music quite often. His music is perfect for a summer pool party or just fun party music to boost the energy in the room.

Keshi
A recently discovered new favorite of mine. I can’t stop listening to his music. His music is definitely in the lofi/chillhop category. I really like listening to his music no matter what mood I’m in. His voice and the instrumentals flow together very nicely.

Korean
Dean
This artist is one of my favorites because his voice is so smooth and his music is unique. I listened to him a lot when I was studying abroad in China, so this music always transports me back to that time.

2Bic
One group that I don’t know as much about, but all of their songs that I’ve listened to I have liked instantly. Their songs lean more toward ballad and have been featured in some Korean dramas. It has that peaceful quality that I love for when I’m studying and need to concentrate.

Woodz
His music has a light, electronic tone to it. I’m not as familiar with his music, but I will continue to listen and wait for more new music. His music is perfect for those calm, peaceful moments in life.

Simon Dominic
Honestly, he has come out with a lot of new music lately, and I’m loving all of it. As a hip-hop artist, his voice is easily recognizable because of its unique deep tone mixed with high energy beats. His music is ideal for working out and party hangouts with friends.

Gaho
More of a ballad/pop singer, his voice is smooth and unique. I recently discovered him, and I haven’t been able to stop listening to his songs. I am eagerly waiting for more music. His music is the type that I could listen to all day every day.

Maddox
I love love love his music, and he actually reminds me a lot of Dean. Although he barely has any music out, I can already tell that he is someone that I will continue to listen to. He only has a few songs out on Spotify and Soundcloud, but they are all awesome. His songs are also more ballad/pop style. I look forward to his future music.

George
An R&B artist that some great tunes that are perfect to listen to while strolling outside and watching the sun set.

Changmo
His music is very high energy and popular to hear at shops, restaurants, and bars here in Korea. This music is ideal for partying and high energy events.

Bolbbalgan4
This music always brings me back to university because my Korean roommate used to use their music as an alarm. I love their unique voices and the bright tunes that accompany them. Perfect music to wake up to in the morning or when you are preparing to leave for school/work in the morning.

Chinese
Jess Lee 李佳薇
Her music varies from calm songs to very upbeat ones. The best music to listen to in the afternoon when I’m just chilling and drinking tea.

Li Ronghao 李荣浩
He has so many songs that I love to listen to. His music is usually slower and it totally suits his voice. I listen to his music to fall asleep sometimes because it’s so calming.

Tia Ray 袁娅维
Probably one of my newer favorites, she has music in both English and Chinese. Her music varies from modern to more traditional. You can find music for basically any mood in her music albums.

G.E.M.
She is extremely popular and has music in both Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. Her music has been around for quite a while now. If you want some good pop music, this is it.

Higher Brothers
A group that I support wholeheartedly since they also are from the region where I lived in China. This hip-hop group has produced a lot of hits that are energetic and great for parties. I tend to listen to their music when I work out.

Mayday 五月天
Another well-known group, I first discovered their music after hearing one of their songs in a Chinese tv show. Definitely lean more towards the rock and pop genres. I listen to their music when I need some upbeat music.

Rosie Yang
Another artist I discovered while watching a Chinese tv show. She sings in both English and Chinese. I love her music because it’s usually bright with a good guitar or drum beat. I tend to listen to her music when I’m happy.

Erika
She produces music that has a calm quality to it. However, she also has plenty of happier-sounding songs too. She is another artist I listen to while studying or napping.

Joker Xue 薛之谦
I listen to almost all of his songs. He sings a lot of calm songs that I enjoy listening to while studying and sleeping.

Olivia Ong 王俪婷
One of my favorite Chinese female singers, she holds a special place since I used to listen to her music a lot while I was studying abroad in Argentina. Her music brings back all those times, just like they were yesterday. She has music in both English and Chinese. I love that most of her music is calming which is perfect for the long bus rides I took while traveling.

Freya Lim 林凡
One of my all-time favorites is this artist. I basically love all her music. She has had many of her songs featured in Chinese dramas. The lyrics in her music are really lovely. I tend to listen to her music to study, or when I want to recall some happy memories.

Zhou Shen 周深
A new favorite, his voice is really unique. Most people can’t believe it when they see who is singing. His vocal range is really wide, and it suits the traditional Chinese songs that he sometimes sings. I really appreciate listening to his music when I want to listen to some calm, Chinese traditional-sounding music.

Vinida 万妮达
I recently discovered her music. She is really unique since most of the Chinese artists I listen to fit more into the slow, ballad/pop genre. Her music is energetic and sounds more like the western style of music. Her voice is really powerful. Her music is ideal to listen to when your mood is good.

Spanish
J Balvin
I believe he is pretty well-known. The songs he sings usually have very upbeat, festive tunes. I usually listen to his music when my family is having a pool party in the summer.

Johnny Sky
One of my favorite Spanish singers since his songs have happy beats and they suit his voice. I listen to his music pretty much anywhere and everywhere.

Piso 21
They produce music that leans more to the ballad type. I enjoy this music when I’m trying to get something done.

Sebastian Yatra
His songs vary from slow to party. The lyrics in his music tend to be really lovely. His music is ideal in most any situations since he has a wide range of options.

Alvaro Soler
Music that tends to be very happy sounding. I believe he became very popular in the States. The tunes are really catchy and perfect for summer hangouts.

Leslie Grace
My favorite female Spanish singer since her voice covers a wide range. She has songs in both English and Spanish. Her songs are memorable and easy to sing along to. Her music is suitable to listen to at any point in the day.

I tried my best to mention artists that aren’t popular, since the mainstream artists’ songs are fairly well-known. These are all artists that I tend to listen to on a regular basis, and have quite a few of their songs on my playlists. Thanks for reading!
