A Trip to Seattle
Back in November (yes, I know that’s quite a few months ago… I was busy), I flew to Seattle to spend some time with my siblings and some friends. I had such a great time exploring more of Seattle now that I returned there as an adult. Also, gotta love how convenient public transportation is (I really didn’t want to drive around in the city).
The first place I went to was Cafe Canuc (pronounced Can You See). It definitely reminded me of Korean cafes because of the decor and the drinks and desserts. The only downside was that it was so humid inside that I quickly exited after I got my drink because I felt like I was in a sauna.
I rushed over to Gasworks Park so that I could see the sunset. It was so peaceful watching the people rowing on the water and the planes flying overhead. It was really chilly though so we headed over to the U District for dinner.
My siblings and I met up with one of my friends from Korea and we ordered food at Dintaifung. The food and drinks were delicious. To end the night, we went to Chill. They had some bomb frozen yogurt.
The next day, I was mostly solo exploring the entire day. I booked a spot at Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience. I was smaller than I expected, but still very interesting. I relearned a lot of the information that I had learned when younger and got to see more of his paintings.
I took the bus to URL Coffee. It was on the smaller side but was very cute. The avocado toast and chai tea latte were so good. Probably my favorite cafe during the duration of the trip. Lots of people were studying there and overall was such a good vibe.
I took another bus to Kerry Park to get a good view of the city. Honestly, I was surprised when I got there because I expected it to be a park, but it was just a small strip of land. However, it did indeed have a good view of the. Seattle skyline.
Since I still had time to kill before meeting my siblings for dinner, I went to Aroom Coffee. I barely got a seat since it is a very popular cafe. The drink that I chose was good, and I just stayed for a bit to drink it. I took that photo of my seat with my bag and it sure fit with the aesthetic.
For dinner, I went to Happy Lamb Hot Pot. I really regretted not making a reservation because it was packed and we waited over an hour to get a seat. In the end, it was all worth it. Although, their broth didn’t taste like the typical broth I normally have had at hot pot.
The much-anticipated part of the trip was the next morning when I went to Chihuly Glass and Garden. I loved walking through the rooms and looking at all the glass sculptures. My siblings were practically racing through the rooms and I wanted to just admire everything. So, we exited a lot quicker than I thought. It was very cool and all the colors were super vibrant.
It was time for lunch, so we walked over to Jade Garden. Again, why did we not make a reservation? We finally were seated and ordered a bunch of food. It was rainy outside, so it was the perfect meal to warm up.
At this time, we met up with a childhood friend and strolled through Pike Place Market. The flowers were so pretty, I was so tempted to buy some. We stopped in a tea shop to buy some tea for my mom and also bought some Turkish Delight at another shop.
I said goodbye to everyone and then went to meet up with a friend from uni. We decided to meet at Dumpling: The Noodle. It had the perfect meal options for what we craved.
Before parting, we walked to Timeless Tea. The interior was comfy and they were playing so many Chinese songs that I am familiar with. The fruit tea that I ordered was so good that I ordered another to-go. The dog dessert was hilarious. They also had some cat pillows that were fun to take photos with.
Overall, it was a blast of a trip. I enjoyed spending time with friends and family and also getting to explore more of Seattle on my own. Can’t wait to go back in the near future!
