Incheon’s Chinatown

Incheon is known for having the airport, but did you know it also is home to a Chinatown? Seoul doesn’t have an official Chinatown, so I searched online and discovered that Incheon had one. My friend and I decided to go since another one of my friend’s was staying in Incheon, and what better time to visit an area that I usually don’t explore?

We took a bus up to Seoul and then the subway the rest of the way to Incheon. It was a looong trip, but we finally made it. Chinatown was right outside the station, so that was super convenient. We wandered around the area, bought some baozi (Chinese buns), hiked up the hill to see the view from the pavilion, and then went and had a meal at one of the many Chinese restaurants. The food was amazing and I was dying of happiness. It has been too long without some more authentic Chinese cuisine.

We also ambled over to Sinpo International Market and picked up some lovely egg tarts. I swear if I hadn’t been so full, I would have bought so many snacks there. The market held so many Chinese treats… it was foodie heaven.

Sadly, we had to leave and take the long trip back to Yeoju. I was so glad to check out what Incheon had to offer. There are many more trips to other areas of Incheon that I have waiting on my list.
