One Last Stop, Geneva

So, sadly, I am already on the last leg of my time in Switzerland. I took the train from Interlaken to Geneva for approximately three hours. On the way, I saw many beautiful lakes and charming towns that I would love to walk through if I have the chance someday. I especially liked the look of Lausanne (fingers crossed I can go back someday).

I was on speed-tour mode in Geneva since I only had one day to see what Geneva had to offer. I checked into my hostel and then went out to explore. The temperature increased drastically and I was low-key dying a little, especially since there was less shade in Geneva than the other towns. I saw some murals, picturesque buildings, and the Jet d’Eau. To see a better view of Geneva, I decided on a whim to ride the Ferris wheel, which provided a great view of the lake, buildings, and the huge jet of water. I decided to walk around a bit more down some streets and then headed back to my hostel. On the way back, I found a cute sushi restaurant (the sushi was an exorbitant price of $20) where I sat down to eat and some little birds kept me company. And, that is it for my little stay in Geneva!

It was still only about 7pm when I returned to the hostel, but the next morning I had to get up at 3:30am since I was taking the train at 5am back to Paris. I got all my luggage ready to sneak out of the room so I wouldn’t disturb the other girls in the room. However, that night was not ideal. The floorboards were so creaky that anyone who was walking on them would wake everyone. Also, some girls kept coming in and out of the room, moving their luggage, and even stood in the room and chatted early in the morning (around 2 am). I barely got any sleep, and just gave up at one point.

Switzerland was an absolute treat, and I wish I had more time to explore other parts of it! Guess I will just have to come back to travel some more. Oh, something I forgot to mention was, in Luzern there were ticket machines at every bus stop to purchase a ticket, which was super convenient. I am not sure how things worked in the other cities because I either took trains or just walked everywhere. I am now on my way to Paris!
