Places I Went to See the Spring Flowers

The spring has been a bit hectic with moving up to Seoul and also being cautious of the virus. However, I aimed to take the opportunities I could to see the spring flowers. This is just a conglomeration of the random places I went to to look at the blooms. Check out some of my previous posts (and future posts) for more in-depth posts on certain places.

Anyang Stream 안양천

I randomly stopped here one afternoon after being in the area to ice skate. It is a beautiful area located on the west side of Seoul. The stream is surrounded by paths for walking, jogging, and biking. It also had tons of tulips sprouting in the flowerbeds and daffodils dotting the banks of the stream. It is a calm place to spend the afternoon/evening.

Colline Cafe 콜린카페

Probably one of my favorite cafes to go to, it is well-known in the Seoul. Many dramas and shows have shot videos here. It has a beautiful patio area that is covered by a clear awning. On the patio, they feature different flowers in between the tables. So, the atmosphere is a total vibe, what about the drinks and food? The food and beverages are also top-notch. Want a fancy tea, the teapot comes on top of a little holder with a candle underneath to keep the tea warm. I have gone here so many times, and have also had times where I haven’t been able to find seating. It gets very crowded even though it is two floors of seating.

Conhas Coffee 콘하스

I went specifically to see the giant magnolia tree that I kept seeing pop up on my instagram feed. It was gorgeous… but the cafe was packed because of how popular it was. I stayed for a very short time to capture the tree and then left. The cafe was two stories and had chill vibes. I want to go back to properly enjoy the cafe.

Grey Lab 그레이랩

A very trendy cafe to go to in the spring, this cafe was very crowded since it isn’t very spacious. I popped in to take photos, and then headed out. I had wanted to go for their special apple tea that has a whole tiny apple nestled in slices of apple, but I’ll have to go back another time. Like many of the other cafes, it has lots of flowering trees in the outdoor area.

This cafe is also several floors and features a decent-sized outdoor area in front of the building. It is located in Hongdae, so it is convenient to go to when going to other places there. In the spring, the flowering trees are so pretty. The cafe offers blankets so that you don’t get cold (or for those with short skirts/shorts). The drinks and desserts were superb.

Itaewon area 이태원

There are so many spots in Itaewon that have flowering bushes and trees. You can wander down some side street and come across an amazing spot. I did this, and came across so many places that I didn’t even know existed.

Mangwon area 망원

Another neighborhood area, it is known for cute shops and small cafes. It is definitely a nice place to stroll around. I came across a vintage toy shop here and it brought back so many memories. I also ran into so many pretty roses draped over walls and climbing up the sides of buildings.

Olympic Park 올림픽공원

I have been to this park countless times, and I love exploring in the different seasons. It always gets better every time I go. This time I finally had the chance to see the entrance of the park with the Olympic gate, and also got to explore the and appreciate the full effect of the rose garden.

Yeouido 여의도

I have been here before to see the spring flowers, and I went another time on a rainy day to see the cherry blossoms. It was so pretty with the main street lined with so many pretty flowers. There are, of course, many other flowering trees in the neighborhood streets. If you get off at Yeouinaru station, it puts you right in front of the cherry trees.

Yongsan area 용산

In Yongsan, there is Seoul station and Seoullo. At both places and around this area, there are many flowers. On top of Seoul station there is a flower garden that connects to Seoullo. It was refreshing to take a calming stroll here.

That concludes the random places I went to see the roses, daffodils, cherry blossoms, etc. But wait, don’t worry, I have more posts upcoming with even more spring adventures! See you then!
